Spiritual Formation
Our vision at ACTS is to be a catalyst to help the body of Christ evangelize, disciple, and transform Africa for Christ. We are training Christian leaders who will have the character, competence, and capacity to impact the continent for Christ at all levels holistically. We believe to achieve this; we must augment our academic training with other programs that will build character and confidence in ministry. In this regard, we shall be working with students in the following areas:
- Small Groups:Each student will be involved in an iron sharpening Group (ISG) supervised by a faculty member. This ISG meets twice in between regular modules for fun and fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and training. This is an informal time of interaction which is crucial in helping to meet the specific needs of students. The ISG time is also a great forum for one another in their studies.
- Ministry & Community ProjectsDuring each student’s time in ACTS, he/she must be involved in at least two outreach projects organized by the school, in collaboration with other ministries or churches. Some of these outreaches will be outside Nigeria. They will allow students to minister in a concentrated time with their fellow students. Here, they can experience a “missionary atmosphere” in a ministry team context. These opportunities can give way to deep relationships within the school community, and provide the invaluable experience of having a significant impact on a specific ministry area<
- Professional InternshipStudents pursuing a Master’s degree must complete a professional internship. The student will choose an area of ministry in which he/she would like to attain a higher degree of proficiency. The student should select a mentor to guide him/her in their preferred area. The selection of a ministry area should be in line with the type of ministry that the student expects to be involved in upon graduation from ACTS
- Personal MinistryEach student is expected to be involved in his/her own personal ministry during his/her study at ACTS. We believe that preparation for a lifetime service must be done in the context of real ministry
