Chapel Time

Each week, during the quarterly sessions, ACTS will hold chapel on Wednesday from 11:15-12:00 noon to help foster spiritual growth. This time will include a teaching from scripture and prayer for the ministry of the school and students. The format and content may vary and setting may be informal. Students are expected to participate and will have opportunities to lead various aspects of Chapel.

Special Programs

Family Times

Family Times are scheduled social activities planned by the Student Council and /or the faculty at special times during year. These are geared not only for fun and relaxation but also for invaluable times of getting to know your fellow students, staff and faculty outside the classroom or ministry settings. They are designed to build unity, vision, love, and a sense of community at the school. They are also to further enhance the leadership development of students. Therefore, all students are strongly encouraged to attend this gathering. These are announced well in advance so every student can make plans to attend.

Seminars

In concert with the Student Council, the academic department will organize seminars to address issues or topics that are of interest to a part or majority of the ACTS student body (may also be open to the general public). Topics will cover a wide range of areas and will involve respectable experts in the respective disciplines. If you have an area of interest or concern that you would like to be addressed, give your suggestions any of the student council officers.

Prayer Meetings

ACTS staff regularly meets to pray for students, staff, ACTS, Great Commission Movement, and other ministries. Students are encouraged to join in these prayer times as and when they can find time. The ACTS prayer coordinator will send out regular notices to students informing and inviting them to these prayer meetings.

MISSIONS/OUTREACH

Africa Centre for Theological Studies, ACTS is a ministry of Great Commission Movement Nigeria tasked with training Christ-centered leaders who are excellent in learning, character, and competent to serve the body of Christ. Missions and outreaches provide opportunities for all students to experience evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and societal transformation beyond their personal ministry for needed ministry exposure. Our strategies for missions include Jesus film shows, evangelism & discipleship training, empowerment training, and Pastors' conferences. It is compulsory for all students to participate in outreaches organized by ACTS in the course of their studies. These outreaches are in 3 categories - international, urban, and rural outreaches. Each outreach is organized in partnership with a cooperating church or mission agency. Alumni and other Christians willing to participate in or sponsor any of our outreaches can contact the Practical Ministries Director, Rev. Caleb Olubiyi (08035029377) for dates, registration, and other details.
