Africa Centre for Theological Studies (ACTS) is a non-denominational Evangelical Graduate and undergraduate theological Institution. ACTS is a school of the Great Commission Movement of Nigeria (GCMN) established in 2002 to offer programs in Biblical, Theological, leadership and Mission studied. ACTS is a member of the International Leadership University Consortium of schools. ACTS has affiliate status with the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA).
The vision of ACTS is to spearhead holistic transformation in our society.
ACTS campus is located in Ilupeju and is easily accessible from any part of Lagos.
ACTS inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:
1. Biblical Studies (Old and New Testament):
PhD in Biblical Studies (OT and NT specialization) with background in biblical theology. Firm grasp of biblical and cognate languages is required.
2. Theological Studies (Systematic and/or Historical):
PhD in Systematic and/or historical theology. Academic training and firm grasp of the history of Christian thought, philosophy, the creeds and issues in African religion and theology is required,
This is a full time teaching position which involve research, thesis supervision and mentoring of students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
The minimum qualification for each of these position is a PhD from the relevant field from a recognized institution. Competence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required.
The applicant must be a committed Christian with evidence of spiritual birth, growth and maturity. Applicant must have a strong church commitment and must possess demonstrable skills in oral and written communications. In addition, he or she must have observable dedication to the ministry of teaching; enthusiasm for professional engagement with students in and out of the classroom; and ability to work in teams.
A mastery of the use of technology for instructional purposes will be an added advantage.
Candidates with ABD (particularly those at the final stages of dissertation writing) could also apply.
